Good News: LVTC takes the Lead in Constructing the First Batch of Teaching and Research Practice Community Integrating Ideological and Political Courses Among Universities, Primary, Middle and High Schools in Liuzhou

News from News Center (Text and Photos by Deng Honglian from School of Marxism Studies) According to the Notice on Announcement of the List of the First Batch of Teaching and Research Practice Community Integrating Ideological and Political Courses among Universities, Primary, Middle and High Schools in Liuzhou (LJSZ [2022] No. 41), five teaching and research practice communities integrating ideological and political courses among universities, primary, middle and high schools were confirmed and selected, a total of 43 schools and colleges.

As the group leader, LVTC presides over the construction of the first batch of teaching and research practice community integrating ideological and political courses among universities, primary, middle and high schools in Liuzhou (Group 3), with group members including Liuzhou Railway No.1 Middle School, Liuzhou Jiaotong School, Rong'an No. 2 Middle School, Liuzhou Hangshenglu Middle School, Rong'an Experimental Middle School, Liuzhou Wantang Primary School Education Group, Liuzhou Sanzhonglu Primary School, and Rong'an Third Experimental Primary School. According to the deployment of Liuzhou Municipal Education Bureau, LVTC is responsible for drawing up three-year plan and current plan for our group as required, actively organizing and carrying out the community teaching research and practical teaching, thus forming a normalized, specialized and standardized working mechanism. Member schools of each teaching and research practice community jointly carry out subject research, course preparation seminars, curriculum construction, etc., as well as construction of curriculum teaching resources, implementation of teacher training program and teaching practice organization.

School of Marxism Studies is mainly responsible for organization and implementation. To establish the high standards of sharing mechanism, build a high level of teaching resources, cultivate high quality teachers to form a joint construction thought and work target with high quality demonstration effect, schools, colleges and units carry out joint teaching and research practice, concentrate their efforts on joint construction of ideas, courses, teams, teaching and research, jointly participate in integration and co-construction of ideological and political courses among universities, primary, middle and high schools to promote the effective integration and connection of ideological and political education resources among them and move up the education and research level of ideological and political teachers. All of these efforts are conducive to forming an integrated construction system for ideological and political courses of universities, primary, middle and high schools that is linked, spiraling and progressive, thereby providing high-quality classes for students of various sections in Liuzhou, and further enhancing students' feelings of home and country, cultural confidence and national identity.

LVTC is the leading unit of the first batch of teaching and research practice community integrating ideological and political courses among universities, primary, middle and high schools in Liuzhou, which can be regarded as a recognition of the achievements in the construction of ideological and political theory courses in the College. In recent years, under the unified leadership of the school Party Committee and the concerted assistance of all departments of the school, School of Marxism Studies has conscientiously implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the teachers' symposium concerning the ideological and political theory course, and centered on the fundamental issues of who to train, how to train and for whom to train. It holds high the banner, adheres to integrity and innovation, focuses on the fundamental task of cultivating people through virtue, and assumes the mission of casting soul and educating people. Many measures to strengthen and improve the construction of ideological and political theory courses have yielded good results. The six directly affiliated branches have won the honorary titles, such as “Cultivation and Creation Unit of National Party Building Model Branch”, “Cultivation and Creation Unit of the First Batch of New Era Party Building Model Branch in Guangxi”, “Cultivation and Creation Unit of ‘Double Leader’ Teacher Party Branch Secretary in Guangxi”, the second batch of "Five-star" branches among schools and colleges in the region, excellent grass-roots party organization in Liuzhou. In 2021, it has won 1 first prize for teaching achievements both in the Guangxi and Liuzhou. Zuo Nihong was selected as a member of the teaching steering committee concerning ideological and political theory course "Ideological Morality and Rule of Law" in Guangxi from 2022 to 2025.

According to the requirements of Notice on the Establishment of the First Batch of Teaching and Research Practice Community Integrating Ideological and Political Courses among Universities, Primary, Middle and High Schools in Liuzhou (LJSZ [2022] No. 41), and after the application of all units, we determined five teaching and research practice communities, including Guangxi University of Science and Technology, selected by the experts. The list is now published (see annex).

It is hoped that all units of the teaching and research practice communities will actively participate in the integrated construction of ideological and political science, carry out joint teaching and research practice to realize resource sharing and complementary advantages, improve the teaching and research level of ideological and political science teachers, thereby forming an integrated construction system for ideological and political courses of universities, primary, middle and high schools that is linked, spiraling and progressive.
